STRUCTURE - INTERN SCHOLARSHIPS

As ITDC and its affiliates identify topics for research that lead to the potential for developing sustainable competitive advantages for Southern Arizona start up companies, internship jobs are described and listed with Career Services at the University of Arizona and Thunderbird School of Global Management.

ITDC then interviews the students with its partners to determine which person would be best suited for the scholarship. Then, ITDC pays the intern to work full time for three months over the summer, and 10 hours a week for the next three months when school is back in session.

During that time, the intern will work closely with ITDC and partners to research the challenge at hand, then respond through a well thought-out plan of action.  Examples of topics include:

Uncovering possible business applications from the research being conducted in Controlled Environment Agriculture.

Taking the know how in greenhouse production systems to create a new company in Arizona to be a regional supplier of grafted tomato transplants.

Creating a roadmap for a Biofuels Policy, Research, and Development Institute that is both inclusive and focused.

Interns may come up with topics for research that fit in the parameters of ITDC.  In such cases, ITDC will provide scholarships to pursue these research topics.  In this way, ITDC continues to identify, evaluate, and develop opportunities with interns, partners, retired executives, and local businesses.
ITDC invites motivated interns to work on select concepts that pass the screening process.
